Although we are by no stretch of the imagination 'crafty' we rather think that we should find basket weaving appealing. It all looks to be rather calming with a practically useful end result. Perfect!

Is the blurry picture at the end how your eyes were working after basket making? I think you've got a good design going, and can't wait to see the finished product. The model looks lovely. Or is that yours?
I know a potter who is also a basket weaver and you can really see how the two crafts influence her work even though she doesn't weave clay. It's in the forms.
Hi Jane and Lance, thanks, the weaving is very relaxing as the mind must concentrate on the weaving and there is no room for any other thoughts or heavy thinking.
Hi Michele, thanks, I'm thinking I can do some weaving when we are traveling again some day rather than clay which is too fragile. Also the basket can be set aside at any point and taken up later.
Hi Barbara, thanks, the light was too low for the photo but I posted it any way because the colors were so pretty, but it could also be my eyes too. Ha.
Oh the basket model is a model and not my work.
I can see how learning weaving will help you with your creative designs!

Hi Meredith, thanks, yeah I did a search on the itnernet, there may be basket weavers near by you too, check into it, I'll bet there are.
Hi Dee, thanks, as long as there is a pattern and I am careful to remember to alternate the weaving and if I make a mistake I can take it apart and start again, keeping my concentration is the trick.
I was looking forward to this post - and I was right to do so. I love your basket, and hope to see a photo of it in its finished glory soon.
